Default Donutboy97 '88 Monte SS Build Thread

WOW!!! I'm so excited after seeing all these great build threads by others to finially be able to start my own thread on my SS. So with this nice weather, I decided to put in my trunk kit.

Here is what it started out as. I did clean up some of the surface rust first.


Woo Hoo!!! Carpet is down. Looks better already lol


This was about the time I was going insane trying to figure out how this all went together lol


And here is is complete for the most part...


I still need to velcro it together but I wanted to make sure everything was in the right place first. I thought it was a great kit and definately improves the trunk appearence. But I do have some questions on where exactly the small hinge pieces go. If anyone has this kit please let me know.

I'll be adding more to this as I continue to build. I already have a new headliner, fender/firewall braces, and misc. trim pieces that need to get installed.

Thanks guys for the comments. I went to the yard today and got some more parts for the monte so I'm excited.

so worked more on the Monte. Figured since it's going to be 80, i better get the window switch working....

Before...


close up of the broken switch... the actual tab swith was breaking off... a little hard to see in the pic


Can ya tell i need to replace my headliner asap!!! this crap is everywhere!!!!


The only physical proof that this car use to be black


New switch is in and everything is all cleaned up!!!


Last thing tonight, changed out my seat belt guides... (passenger side was missing)
