Sorry I'm new to the scene and just picked up a 2000 Monte. Not too familiar with the 3.8L engine other than knowing that it's pretty much bullet proof. I was wondering if the 3.8 uses the EGR system that is common on GM engines. I have a 1999 sonoma and the EGR has given me a few problems on the 4.3L. Are there some common problems associated with the EGR on the 3.8? Thanks.

 

Nevermind. Figured it out myself. popped the hood to remove the MAF screen and got a chance to look around. Yep, there it was EGR.
