Do you ever wonder if your previous Monte Carlos are still on the road?
I used to own these two Monte Carlos back in the day. I bought the Silver 2001 LS with 3000 miles on it back in 2001 after I started my new full time job. Then I traded it in on a 07 SS that I bought brand new. I loved both cars, especially the power the 07 had, but I traded my 07 for a 2005 Silverado Duramax 6 years later.. I should of kept the 07 SS. I had to replace the stock wheels after I hit a large pot hole in the road and busted the rim on the front right. Don't you wonder if your vehicles are still on the road? I always do, but I'm not paying the cost of a car fax to find out though, guess I can only hope someone has taken care of them and enjoyed them as much as I did.
I do wonder about my other cars though. I saw my 99 GTP 6 months or so after I traded it for the 07 GP GXP. It was on a little corner used car lot (had over 100k, so Im sure the big dealer just ran it to auction) maybe 15 minutes away.
I was really tempted to 'test drive it' just for old time's sake (it was an open cone intake with a smaller pulley - that blower screamed). But I figured Id better not so I didnt do something stupid like actually get feelings and want to buy it back.

Nice 07 Monte, can see why you think about it.
I had an 80 CJ-7, in what is now a rare color called Caramel, bought it new off the lot at a dealership right outside Ft. Hood, while in the Army, sticker price was a bit over $7k. All it had was the 4 banger, 4 speed, but it did everything I asked of it. Took very good care of it, wax the underside, take out the snap in carpet kit, wax the floors, engine bay immaculate etc. After the army traveled around the western US in it. Let it go when I lived in Mesa, Az, traded it in on an 86 CJ-7. Heard from the salesman an older couple bought it to tow behind their RV. I find myself looking for it on eBay, Bring A Trailer etc, yet know odds are stacked way against ever seeing it again. Hope it's still out there serving someone else well. I think if someone else got it, they would do what most others do, yank the 4 drop in a Chevy V8, raise it up 2 feet and trash em at Moab.
Still have my one and only Monte, bought new right off the show room floor. They had to move a couple other cars, slide the big glass doors open, took it for a test drive, sat down and signed the papers on it, about a $28k sticker price, 02 SS with the Limited Edition speedo and such. Going in for its 4 or 5th tranny July 22, seem to get about 6k miles on each. Think this time it's only a solenoid and seals, no hard parts. Hell summer is already in high gear. I still have my first and currently one of two Montes I own. Sadly a couple of my cars were totaled and I am sure long gone. And odds are the ones I did sell are probably also long gone (based on condition they were when sold).
Interesting enough, the found of Papa John's years ago went on a quest to find his old Camaro that was sold to start the business.
