Difference between SS and LS.

LS or SS
I just bought a 2003 Monte Carlo. I am trying to put insurance on it and they are asking if it is LS or SS. This is my first car and I have no idea which it is. I looked on the papers and it does not specify. Is there a way I can find out?

Pop the hood, if the top of it says 3400 it's an LS, if it's the 3800 it's an SS.
