I need a friend like that. Haha that's an awesome deal. He wasn't able to do the engine though? Did he get the door and trunk jambs?
The only thing he didnt do was the underhood and engine bay, but I think im going to get my original paint code and dress the engine with the orginal car color and blend it in a little bit.
That would look good. Black and blue but a darker blue. I like two tone cars. My engine bay had some primer overspray from its repaint but it never really bothered me.
The only reason I have to do it. Is that I go to cruise in's weekly and have the hood open. So I need to blend it a bit. Or I was thinking doing the underhood black and just leave the engine bay. I really do not want to pull the engine to paint.
If you do the brackets and engine cover in the same blue it should blend really well. Maybe do black accents (like the 3800 series 2 lettering or the like) to help it blend in. I'm a little scared about taking my car to cruis ins and shows cause I don't know if its clean enough lol.

go to the general monte carlo talk thread and look up the one I posed called "car show pics" and you will see some in there that are beat up
I thought the same thing but there are cars that are still being worked on and the paint has been sanded down or just beat up that still show up.

What I did before that show was I did poly resin detailing. Its an oil based product that adheres to the clearcoat to fill in swirls. There is a detailer here that does it and with it being oil based it feels soo smooth like silk. You can bring me a car that has just been detailed and it wont feel as smooth as mine. Plus you dont have to wash it with soap. Just need water it only collects a very thin layer of dust and usually detailer and a microfiber is all you need.
