Debating on what brand??
Listen people, by now you know I have a 85 m.c. and being that my motor is almost good to go. I want to start investing in aftermarket parts. But I don't want brand out there is a good choice. Like I seen lots of edelbrock and Holley and so fourth. Is it best to keep one specific brand or what. Like now the used carburetor have quadrajet on the side but not sure what brand. Help me out peoples

To be honest, I wouldn't do much work on a 305. If you don't care about performance and are okay with going high 13's or slower in the 1/4 mile, then it's okay to stick with the 305. Plus, it's not so much brand that matters, but the specs of the parts that you're looking at. As long as they match what you want to do then brand doesn't matter (so long as the quality is good). Otherwise, drop a 350 in it and start modifying that. You'll be glad to get that slow boat anchor (305) out of that Monte

3 hundred or thousand? its a 85 or older motor judging by the perimeter bolt valve covers so it should have a flat tappet cam and it has factory heads. so unless its the heads have been worked over and it has a real cam in it i wouldnt go throwing any serious money at it. 350s are a dime a dozen they were produced for over 20 years, and came in just about everything. if youre worried about what brands to shop around for i would suggest a crate motor. im going to assume that youre not experienced with engine builds, and combos. nothing can be worse than buying mismatched parts screwing the motor together only to have it dynamite on you, or not make any power do to a poor combination. save time and money and get a nice crate motor. they usually have warranties and are dynoed.
