Cost, time and difficulty to restore this 70 SS 454?
My buddy is finally thinking about selling his 70 Monte Carlo SS 454 that's been sitting in his backyard since 1982. The car is a true SS and still has the original matching numbers engine and tranny, but the car has a lot of work that needs to be done since it's been sitting out in the elements for so long. However, it is an Arizona car so it has more sun damage than anything. Here is a walk around video of the car:

I am thinking about buying the car, but I really don't have much experience working with Chevy's. He's asking $6500 OBO for it right now. Does this price seem reasonable considering the shape it's currently in, or should I try to talk him down some?
Also, how difficult and costly would it be to properly get all the rust replaced and make this car driveable again? I'm not talking about a show quality restoration or anything like that, but just good enough to get it back on the road again? The car has rust around the rear window, top of the windshield, small rust spots on the front fenders and rear quarter panels, and some in the trunk floor and drivers side floor pan. However, I don't think most of it is too serious.
So how do you guys think this would be cost wise, difficulty wise, and amount of time it would take to get the car good enough to safely get back on the road?
I'll appreciate any input you can provide. Thanks!

I have not had any experience with this and I do not know how much it would cost but if it is something you really want, I would go for it. But that is just me.
My kids are always asking me, what would you trade either of your Montes even up for? My answer is NOTHING!!! When I say something about wanting another Monte, they ask, which one you going to get rid of....NEITHER...I will ADD to my Montes I already have...LOL

I don't know what they go for around your area but I do believe were I live that is a pretty decent price but I would always talk them down. I do live in the rust belt so most things that sit outside rust quick.
