Default Cleaning Stained Wheels

The wheels on my 2006 LTZ are stained. The former owner told me it is tire cleaner on the outside rim and some Fix-a-flat that smeared on the wheel face. No amount of soap and water has made it any better. Anyone have experience with restoring problems like this?

Any Pics? I would try the Mothers power ball polish kit. You may have to do it a few times to see it if will lighting up at all.

Hard to remove stains I've removed 99% of the time with EagleOne's Aluminum Mag Wheel cleaner (I've used it on ANY wheel, steelies, hub caps, cast alloy rims). Spray on, lightly aggetate and hose off.

NOW, I have converted to Simple Green for 90% of my wheel cleaning needs, but any tough stains, I pull out the ol' trusty EagleOne stuff.

A small amount of this can go a long way. But the results are amazing. It will take a good amount of dexterity if you don't have drill attachments.

Afterwards you will want to keep a good coat of wax on the rims too.

I used Mothers on my truck wheels along with the power ball they sell for doing this type of work. I did two on a saturday afternoon. Then finished up on Sun with the other two. Came out GREAT.

This fix a flat stain is the worst by far. Smooth to the touch, but will just not come off. I almost think it needs an abrasive to be removed.

Tire cleaner stain i can live with. Perhaps a cleaner that will take care of the fix a flat will knock this out, too.

Ill stop by pep boys for the mothers or eagle one. It would be great to get those stains at least less visible.

Also keep in mind, these wheels have a clear coat to them. Wonder if that goop damaged the clear coat. Does the texture where the stain is feel different?
