GM is giving all Southern Californians a free air filter.
I go pick mine up today.

Great to read that GM is doing some great Public Relations.
It's a great first step. I hope they install it also : )
It's not that easy to change...Not difficult, but
awkward to do on a 3.9LGP `Dave, was it because of the fire's, andthe dust cause by them ?I hope GM does more PR like that.

They will install it if you wish, but I don't care to leave it there for a couple of hours.
I know it is difficult to do the change but I don't mind trying.

You should do fine with replacing the air filter, I've had my airbox off before just messing around with it and it was easier than my G/F's 3.4L Monte Carlo. I thought it was simple to get to it. Should take about 2 min.

I had a post awhile ago about changing the filter on my 06.The aftermarket filter I tried at firstwould not fit.The rubber seal was too hard, preventing the airbox from closing properly.I returned it and went to the dealership for a replacement AC Delco filter, and it went in rather easily. It took 10 minutes at most.
