CD player problems
Is it just me or does the 6 disc CD changer in the 06 SS really suck?
sometimes I have to load a cd 4-5 times before it will actually load.
Now I have a problem, a cd got jammed loading it. It won't eject it or load it. Just keeps buzzing then says disc error. Anyone else have this problem? Any tips on getting it out or do I have to take the 30 min drive to the dealership? Not even sure if it's under warrenty.
Thanks for listening to me vent!
p.s. Other than that, new monte is running beautifuly!!

Mine won't load a CD at all. Acts like a disc is jammed in it, any eject/load button pressing results in the "disc error" message. I do have a replacement headunit I bought off $Bay but have not had the time or inclination to get it programmed.

The 6-disc in the Expedition lasted at least to day I returned it to the lease co. It was loaded with home-burned CDs and would occasionally take issue with a CD, but replacing it with another back up worked ok. I always copied my CDs and kept only the copies in the car (kids..)
The unit in the MC acts like it has a stuck disc. I tried forcing one of those clear blank ones down it's slot but it would not take. I took the thing apart as far as I dared - removing the faceplate and gazing around at it's innards. Saw nothing in there, I'm guessing it's mechanical or gummed up with a homemade CD's label (never put CDs with homemade labels in a slot).
Only time I miss it is when I get a CD and want to hear it on the way home. I put requests on craigslist now and then for a quick cash deal with anyone that has the GM scan tool so I can swap it out..
