hey all we had our first car show this last weekend and here are some pics of the Monte and me

I met James Harness for the show Gold Rush

he was a cool guy and i did get a autographed pic from him
and best of all I won my class 1980 and newer

Congrats! Monte looks great as usual What are you using to hold the hood up in those pics? I like how its not quite fully opened. Looks awesome

Most of my car club does not do the fully open hood so I started looking for a way to do a 1/3 open hood .In my garage I found a old round curtain rod 5/8 in diam I drilled some holes in it and cut it with a hack saw so it would cradle the hood latch and drilled another in the other end so I could use the pre existing hole by the hood latch. I ran a bolt and checked it to see how it fit and the spacing was good but I wanted to make sure if it was a windy day that I could strap the latch to the bar so my hood would not fly up and hurt it or go up a little and slam down on the bar and damage the hood . I just used a Velcro strap like for computer cables and it works great . then i just shot the hole thing satin Black and stuck some of my stickers on it and called It good .
