Well they have hit the basic things but I've noticed that people, especially if it's a public voting show, like a display of some sort to help catch their attention & make sure people can see that you take exceptionally care of the monte

for me if the panels are straight and i cant tell there has been paintwork, the engine is clean (i dont mess around with mine i use a Hotsy to clean mine), inside of the rims like mentioned, no wax smudges or left over wax in cracks and im big on door jams and fender wells....i could pry go on but most of the major things are covered

I also judge car shows in my area. The key to showing a newer car is clean everything. And keep props to a minimum. All you really need is a nice sign that highlights key points about your car. I also think that showing off previous won trophies are very tacky imo.

I leave previous trophies at home. I don't want some judge thinking I don't need another one. Sometimes I'll show them at cruise-ins.

Default car shows

Like Brittany said earlier, all the basics have been covered.
You may also want to keep the door jams, rocker panels and trunk area clean. Keep your dash clean and clean the INSIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD as well. Make sure that the exhaust tips are clean. Don't do all the fine detailing until you get to the show. Shine up your tires and door panels there but don't over do it. Use your car wash bucket and carry detail rags and show-n-shine stuff in there.Take a Sharpie with you so you can fill out your window tag and carry a pen with you.
But most of all just relax and have fun. Don't worry about trophies.
Oh ! And educate yourself about your car. People will and do ask questions. Good luck.

How do you keep from taking it personally? I have a lot of sweat in my car and I don't think I would appreciate being critiqued. I don't mind suggestions, just condemnations would seem likely.
