Default Car Show Advice

I was using the search tool to try and find a past thread with advice or tips for if you're going to enter a car show but pretty much came up empty handed. . .SO. . . (since I'm sure i'm not the only one popping their car show cherry) anyone got some suggestions?

i judge the local car show...the biggest thing that ppl dont do in a car show is clean up the engine compartment so that would be one thing i would suggest

edit: nice monte i love that color

x2 on the engine compartment ^^^ for sure !! this winter I steam cleaned the hole engine bay on mine
I also pull the rims off the car and clean the inside of the rim. Make sure that there is no wax around the badges cracks and crevices on the car. Get the dust if you have any out of the air vents.
have fun and bring sun block , chair, and something to drink
I am thinking this year about getting some T shirts made with my car on them just for fun

Engine compartment is one of the first things I would do if I want to place or win.

I used a Hann HS-20 my wife had been bugging me th get her a steam cleaning mop so I found a set on Amazon for her and this came with it and it has like 8 attachments for all kinds of different cleaning applications and let me tell you it worked great she uses the mop and I steam cleaned my engine bay LOL the best part was that my car sits in my garage for the winter and instead of spraying the motor down with harsh chemicals and covering the electronics so I could Wash it off all I did is let the motor idel for 10 min ( if the block is warm it goes allot faster ) and then I just started with the valve covers and the oil and grime just melts away . I will tell you that I did put a old PC of carpet down under the car to collect the old oil and stuff off the car because the engine bay had never been cleaned before I got the car so it had 10 years of grease and grime under the hood .
