I just got my Monte out of storage Sunday! That had to be the longest 4 months of my life. Well anyway I decided to install my K&N CAI this weekend and changed the oil to get Monte ready for cruzin! I had my fiancee help me with the intake install - it was kinda a pain in the ***-alot harder to instal than the C&L CAI I installed on my Mustang. Oh well. I was able to drive Monte once and now it's back under the cover in my driveway because of bad storms (I am praying to the car gods not to hail on my precious Monte). Well I know the weather will get good here soon. I will post pics as soon as the weather is good.

how did you like putting that rubber trim around the heat shield?? fun eh! lol

@Wiz Kid ya, it wasn't fun. We still have to do some tweaking to the heat sheild. It doesn't rattle or anything we just want to tighten some of the bolts better. When I found out we had to unplug the car computer I was like holy s--t! I definatly can hear it more. I don't know about performance yet. It still feels slow (compaired to my modded V6 05 Mustang) but like I said I only drove it once so I got to get used to driving it again.

 

yah, mine seems to have a little bit of a rattle to it...gotta figure out where its coming from...but i still love it!

 

How well is the PCM mounted? I would also look for wear signs near the CAI and that will help you narrow down the noise.
