My jaw dropped when I found this yesterday ...



What a pile of ... Yarn? Twine? Feathers?! (Even a couple nutshells.)


It never smelled bad, but I did have a sense that it did not "blow" as hard as it should have, ... Is this why?

i'd check mine but if i recall correctly 5th gens dont have cabin filters i dont think...?

 

Wow...it looks like some kind of varmit made your Monte their home at one time. You should get some good flow now though.

 

@03SSLE: The flow is sooo much better now, my lady-friend can sit & style her hair in it if she wants! =)

(Apparently when the original owners stored it in the winter(s), they did not do much to protect it from such "tresspassings".)

I bought this piece intending to install it BEFORE I developed a problem and about a week after I got it, I was glad I had it. I also put on on my friend's '97 Grand Prix and my wife's '04 Impala (the Impala did not need it, but for $4 it was an awesome piece of mind).

 

Luckily yours actually came with a filter. Mine didn't. I think the early 6th gen LS models didn't get them because in my owners manual it says "if installed."
