I picked up a 1998 Monte a few weeks ago. I noticed the A/C blows cool but has a visible "mist" of moisture coming out the vents. Now that it is cooling off and "dewey" in the Nebraska mornings I need defog.If I run the defog and anything but full cold on the temp levers and the windshield fogs instantly. It seems there is moisture in the system. As a point of reference the A/C does drain condensation under the pass. front wheel when running A/C so the drain tube is not plugged. Any ideas?

 

or a bad heater core.

 

There is no telltale "Swwet" smell like normally is noticed with a heater core leak. Also, floor on pass side is not wet and smelling of anti freeze?

 

I had an Intrepid that did the same thing a few years back....just before the A/C stopped working.
