Brickyard 400 pace car...again
This thing seems to pop up at a different dealer at least once a year in Iowa. Not sure if its the exact same one but it never fails to show up once a year. I think the price is outrageous and I wonder what they paid for it. just crazy.

With the low miles, it's obvious that people were keeping it for the collector's value. This goes back to the idea of car lots thinking they have gold even if they don't. Most cars marketted as a collector's item or collector's edition, will never be worth much more than the used car price. The only one's worth anything significant are the super rare cars. Like the track used pace cars. Or the 5th gens that Dale Earnhardt customized at his dealership. He only did 12 per year, for a couple model years. Cars like those may be worth something significant someday.
The Brickyard Monte that keeps popping up may be rare in it's own right. But it's only worth it to a serious collector. Someone who is looking for that particular car for their collection. It's not being marketted toward people looking for a nice daily driver. And at this point, probably shouldn't be. Since the miles are so low.
But finding the right owner for that car will be like looking for a needle in a haystack. Until the right owner steps up and buys it, it'll keep getting shipped from one car lot to the next.

I agree 100% my uncle always told me a cars only worth what people are willing to pay. For the most part I find it true. Mainly for classic cars or older cars too that holds true. I rember when I was trying to sell my iroc z. Beautiful car. Body was fully redone 2 years prior to me owning it and I'd reupholstered the seats and put new dash panels in so there was no cracking. I struggled for a year trying to get $5,000 for it.
