BEWARE of Castrol Motor Oils...
This might be redundant to most of us, but there are that many more folks who don't know about this...
Buyer BEWARE of some grades of Castrol and and Castrol Syntec Motor Oils!!! Castrol brags about surpassing the standards set by API, BUT some of their oils DO NOT have API Certification and WILL VOID your factory warranty if you tell the dealership you're using it.
In fact, there are brands of oil out on the market that DO NOT carry API Certification.
American Petrolium Institute(API) Certification is essential to keeping your vehicle under factory warranty. Read about it in your owner's manual. It WILL VOID your factory warranty if you use an oil without API Certification.
If you use a non-certfified oil, make sure when you take your car in for service that you tell them you use something else like Mobil 1, Pennzoil, etc that carry the certification.
To check to see if your motor oil is API Certified, look for one or both of these symbols on the front or back of the container...

Here is the list of GM4718M GM registered and approved lubricants. I try to stick to this list, especially if your car is supposed to run on full synthetics, like so many of today's cars are. Bottom of the page is the registered.standard blends, meeting the GM6094M requirements.

Valvoline SynPower 5W-30, 10W-30
Warren Full Synthetic 5W-30, 10W-30
Sticking with any of these and your running safe. Look for GM4718M on the label for full synthetics. These will NOT void your warranty.
BTW, we typically go 6,000 mi between oil changes. Have done that for 650,000 miles now between the 2 of us. ZERO problems.

I didn't see Royal Purple on the approved list, but everyone I've talked with says it's one of the highest quality oils you can get, and I've had no problems or leakage with it yet, so I'm pleased!
I've heard a few bad things about Castrol before, and nothing bad about Royal Purple, that was enough for me.
