Default Best car for 10k-15k

Well ive had my car for sale now for a little less than a month and I finally got somebody to take it off my hands (assuming his credit is what he says it is) Anyways Im a big Monte Carlo fan and im thinking that i am gonna try and pick up an 06-07 SS in the next couple months. Most of the ones ive looked at were around 12k (average of 60k miles on them)

But before I do that I just want to know is there any other car out in the same price range that I need to consider? 15k being the most ill spend and i dont want anything with more than say 80k miles on it MAX. I bought my LT brand new so buying a used car is gonna be hard but I dont want one thats been TOO used. Im 6' 4" tall so I want a big car like our montes. Def nothing smaller. And I want something with some GO in it. I find it hard to believe that ill find anything else that meets my standards like an 06-07 SS would but I dont wanna be closed minded either.

Also I left out that I have a two year old daughter, I have a car seat in my back seat now which to me isnt inconvinient but i would def need somethin wit a back seat.

How about the "sister" car... Impala SS? Been looking and they seem to be found in the mid-lands of SC for around $15k. I myself have been itching for a GTO, I know others will say that Pontiac didn't do justice to the name but they still seem pretty sweet to me. Problems are 06 I believe was the last year and I'm not sure how condusive to 2 year olds the back seats are.

Good luck and happy hunting!

I like the GTO too. I've actually read that the GTO has a pretty big back seat. I would assume that is true, because the GTO is a pretty large coupe.

What about a used Pontiac Grand Prix GXP?

My first though went straight to an F-Body, a nice ol' WS6 or a Camaro SS. Get the nice LS1 power.

But is this for a DD and what's the weather like??

What about looking into an 04-05 Monte with the L67 and then taking what you save and doing a few modifications to it

Assume by the name you live in Alabama??? Close to Rainsville? There's an 06 GTO on cars.com for 15k with 37,000 miles *drool* in Rainsville.

You might be able to get a 2006 Mazda MazdaSpeed6 for around your price.
You could definitely get a Mustang GT in the price.
2004 Acura TL, it might have higher miles though.
2004 Cadillac CTS? LINK
2007 Chrysler 300? LINK
03-04 Infiniti G35?
Nissan Maxima? LINK
GTO? LINK
Grand Prix? LINK
Impreza WRX Tubro AWD? LINK
Volvo S60? LINK Honestly... That's pretty nice!

Just a few. There's probably more I missed. lol

That is a good choice, in that price range I don't think ya can beat it. One thing I would recommend, especially with GM...if you buy used...get one that has the certified warranty. A buddy of mine has one on his CTS-V and they cover everything, even the battery was covered under warranty.

For a few more bucks you could get a CTS-v...those are sweet cars....but wouldn't buy one without the warranty...those rear diffs are expensive.

wow awesome responses. Im going saturday and looking at the lots. Yea I like the t/a's and camaro's and even the GTO's but the back seats are all about the same and My little girl is only gonna get bigger. LOL. Same with the stang.. The monte's backseat is as small as I'd want it to be. Def gonna look at an Impala SS, Grand prix GXP, Maxima, Infinti's, Charger RT (sorry rick i like the charger over the 300 LOL)

But The 04-05 super charged SS has got me thinking.... Those are all around 10K or less. And the coveted 3.8 with it's massive aftermarket. Wow. I might have to look really hard at those. What does a stock S/C 3.8 monte run the 1/4 in?

high 14s, possibly a low 15 depends on the driver I wanna say. It's hard to find STOCK times since they are so easily modded.

Wow... Honestly I would really want that GTO if I were in your price range. As far as the child goes.. you might want to stick with the four doors or a larger space like you've mentioned. My mom has a Charger and there's plenty of room, and it's not bad to drive at all.
