Default Is this alot of miles on my car?

I have a 2004 Monte Carlo SS S/C Dale Jr with a 60,000 miles on it. It is actually 60,500. But, my question is is that alot of miles on my car? I want to tune it so it's a little faster. But, if i give it some gas will the motor blow? Whats alot of milage on this car? I want it to be special in like 20 years when i move out and put it in my garage (im in college freshman).

3800's last forever. you barely have it broke in. some say 150,000 miles is just getting broke in if its not been abused and beaten on. Mine has 140,000 and its an 04 ss. No worries about blowing it up cause you have to literally try in order to blow these things up. start modding but get it professionally tunedif your planning to tune your PCM but dont do that until you are completely done modding it with performance parts you plan to add to it. alot of people on here have more miles than mine and are tuned like no other

Agreed, the 3800 is a great engine. I've seen quite a few 3800's with at least 150k on them. 60k miles on an 04 is nothing, that's about 40k miles below average for that model year. Before it got smashed into and totaled, I had 150k miles (back in late 2010) on my 03 Monte SS and it still ran great, like new. I mean, if you take care of the car and don't beat on it all the time, you should be more than okay to go quite a long time.
