95 Monte Z34 3.4L
I went out to the car, started it and noticed the battery light was dimly lit and flickering. I went to the store and came back. When driving the light stays on. I turned the car off and tried to start it. Nothing. when the key is turned on I have all my lights and radio. Everything seems to be fine. I go in the house to grab some tools and tried to start the car. It started but the battery light is still on. When sitting idol, the light fades out but if I hit the gas, it comes back on.

Alternator is 6 months old (New) and the battery is 1 year old. I checked the terminals on the battery, they are clean. I checked the grounds..fineThe car doesn't sputter or anything and I turned the car on and off about 10 times and it starts like it should. Weird

 

Well you already mentioned the obvious stuff I was going to mention. Grounds and how old the battery is. I would suggest going to an automotive place near you where they will test your battery and alternator for free.

It really does sound like a loose wire somewhere though. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

I think it's my alternator. I went over to a friends and used his volt meter. testing the battery here is what I got:
12.12 before running 11.43 when running

 

hmm well i should really test the voltage comin off the alternator, not the battery charge to determine if its the alternator. I would go to autozone and have ur alternator tested

 

Have you taken out an alternator out of a 95? drop the subframe move suspension. It's on the bottom near the firewall and I don't have a hoist to do it. It cost me 240 to have the new one installed. I need a better idea or I just take it in

 

hmm well idk how autozone does it but ive never taken an alternator off to test it...
