Default Advice for new owner

Hey everyone. I've been the happy owner of a 2002 SS for a month now and am still discovering more about how it drives. I notice it accelerates better with the traction off. It actually threw a check engine light breifly when I floored it in the passing lane, but had no hesitation later with traction off. I'm thinking that the old guy I bought it from didn't floor it very much or at all. The milage is really low so its still getting broken in. I also watched a couple of YouTube videos of other 02 monte owners out for a drive and noticed they had the trac off light on.
Just wondering what others prefer. Do you usually drive with traction on or off? Any other tips to pass on to a new owner?

Depends on your budget for tires When I want to really launch it, I take the traction control off and feather it a little. Definitely more fun! Welcome to the MCF!

When I want a good launch it will be off. If I am just normally driving I just leave it on because then it makes no difference and it saves tires like phuntley said.

I also always keep it off.

The way that the PCM commands the fuel cutoffs and wheel spin throttling with traction is undesirable.
