Default 86 ss trim tag

I just bought my first 1986 monte Carlo SS and I was trying to find the trim tag and its not on the cowl someone told me they didn't come on any 86 Monte's does anyone know if this is true?

If you are talking about the vin number tag it is at the bottom of the winshield on the drivers side.

I found the vin # tag I also have the stickers on door and the parts sticker on the trunk but its missing the trim tag on the cowl that would give me the paint code but I'm not sure the 86 model year ever had them even though there are screw holes for it thanks for the help

The paint code is on the sticker on the bottom side of the trunk.

I think the OP is talking about the RPO code card that would usually be riveted or screwed somewhere in the hood area, either the header panel or firewall.

The one that looks similar to this... I've seen some cars have this on the door sill area as well , but not on a G body.
