4th Gen ('81-'88): '86-'88 base model question

'86-'88 base model question
I'm looking for a headlight for a 1987 Monte Carlo LS Euro, for my grandpa's car. I found some used ones online, but I want to make sure they are compatible with the car. The description for the one headlight says it will work on 1986-1988 LS Monte Carlos, but it is not compatible with the base models. What in the heck does that mean exactly? Is it compatible with my grandpa's car?
I'm guessing the base model is either the SS or the standard nose. When I was searching a salvage yard website for the headlights, there was something listed on there that implied that the LS was the base model, so that's partly why I'm confused.

The LS model has the Euro style headlights. 1 piece glass, whereas the base has 2 square on each side. Look on Ebay for 86-88 Monte LS's and you will see compared to a base. ALl in all, a base or SS headlight can be bought at Autozone, LS cannot.
