I got a 85 Monte Carlo SS automatic for only 900 bucks just needs a paintjob. But im trying to figure out if its worth fixing up? Like can I get it into 13's 14's second in a quarter mile with ****t done to it input me i just came from 4 bangers so im learnin

 

You can get any car into 13's. if you are planning on making this a drag car i say take everything out of it (a/c, power steering, back seats) reduce the weight and then run it and see how it does now. Doing that with heads, headers, exhaust, and a 373 rear end (not to sure if they make that for the monte but something along those lines) should get you into 14's maybe 13's depends on how good the motor is now, with a good set of drag radials.you'll have more fun with the car if you run it as you make new upgrades to your car.

 

Well its my daily driver didnt wanan gut it out consider i still wanan hold value of it...But i was thinking pulley kit, Tweaking the carb,Changing rearends, Building a 300 turbo transmission with a b&M shiftkit,puting a mild cam and **** in it, aset of rear slicks,header, dual 40 series exhaust system.. some other stuff mayube wut u think?

 

You'll never do it with the 305. At least not for a reasonable amount of money and you'll have no reliablity. Swap it for a 350 and go from there.

 

well if u are looking to do 14s and 13s ger a Double pumper from demon and get headers and dumpers that adds alot of hp to it and take out the a/c unit and any kind of somg units.
