I see no reason that the entire dash and center console of the 7th gen would not fit in a 6th gen...the interiors are pretty close to the same anyway...

The shifter **** itself is different in the 7th gen, over the 6th gen...not sure if you could swap the two. But if your changing the entire center console/ dash, then it should work fine.

Ok, well my idea was to change out the interior to clone 7th gen and leave the exterior 6th gen. The door panels and seats look the same on 6th and seventh gen? Also the upper part of the dash and the glove box and area above it look the same. So the only change would be the center console, gauge cluster, and radio/climate controls? This leads me to my next question, if i get the 7th gen gauges will they work with a 6th gen computer, more specifically the control center? Im just gathering as much info as possible so i know what to expect when i start pulling it apart.

Does anyone have pictures of their 7th gen dash and the center console? i would like to try and match them up with 6th gen dash pics to see if its the same design. Same for the console? thanks for any additional help.

Yeah let us know if this works out if you attempt it, I would be interested in trying something similar as well since I'm a 6th gen owner. You might be able to find detailed photos of the 7th gen interior on cars.com or similar websites where dealers are covering a car through photos in order to make a sale.

There should be a pic or two of my interior in my albums...not exactly sure which one, but if you look through, I know there is a couple in there somewhere...

The seats in the 7th gen are NOT the same as the 6th gen...they are a different look, and the front seat backs are thicker. Plus the patterns for leather and cloth are different. You could swap the seats though.

Yea GENERALLY they are the same...but the intrument cluster is different, the added "brushed nickel" on the dash is different, and the entire center console from the air vents all the way back to the arm rest is different, but I'm sure you could swap the two between each other. Just like the seats ARE different, but the bolt patterns im sure are exactly the same. As for the dash, and door panels, they are the SAME!

Probably, you know GM just wanted to "freshen" it up a little, but do it the cheapest way possible. So i'm sure everything is very close...
