5th gen
For the price of a decent 5th gen, any 6th gen you would find will probably be beat to hell. Trust me, I check ebay and craigslist almost every day and a $3500 5th gen can be had for the same quality as say a $6000 or more 6th gen. Both are nice cars, but for the moment, you get get a better deal on a 5th gen than you can on a 6th gen.
This isn't exactly true. Here's a link to them: http://www.mpracing.org/store/index....&productId=552
5th gens take a bit of work to have headers fit though. Most people at least pound the firewall and some also take a plasma cutter to it. You will see a difference power wise with headers, but if that's your only modification, you will probably shave off .2-.3 seconds off of your 1/4 mile time. So it's up to you if it's worth it. The more you do to the Monte though, the better the headers will work for it.

I know they're for the N-body, but it's still the 3100 so it "should" work. The only thing I would be worried about those is the firewall. That's what it seems to always come down to on our 5th gens
You have to remember that N bodies didnt use the same transmissions so just assuming that the crossover would clear the w body trans may not be a good idea. Thats cool if they work but I would check for sure first before just going and buying them.
On a side note, doesn't Manitcor have a set of S&S headers on his 3400 on MM?
