I recommend getting a 98 or 99 Z34. They came with the 3800 and are really reliable. I've had mine for over 160k miles and it isn't missing a beat. Plus I started modifying the Monte at about the 60k mile point, so it's lasted a long time. Check out my albums in my profile if you want to see some pics of my modifications. They're mostly about the engine, but I did install a set of bucket seats in the rear (also in the album). Good luck, 5th gens come off as bland, but I love mine

They are nice, i've seen a red like Zipper's but this one has fog lights, i dont know if stock or aftermarket.
Fog lights, 3 piece spoiler, AND front, rear, & side extension rocker.
This thing is amazing, i should have taken a pic over the summer when i used to see it every week.
Gawd, that thing is beautiful.
Zipper, were fog lights available for the 5 gens?

*edit*

also it has vette style tips.

Fog lights weren't available from the factory, but if you get the Razzi ground effects, it includes a very good place to install a set.

All LS montes had the 160hp 3100 backed by the 4t60e.
95 Z34s had the 210hp 3.4 DOHC backed by the 4t60e
96 Z34s had the 215hp 3.4 DOHC backed by the 4t60e
97 Z34s had the 215hp 3.4 DOHC backed by the 4t65e
All 98-99 Z34s had the 200hp 3800 backed by the 4t65e

All 96-99 Z34s had rear discs
I believe some 95 Z34s had them and some didnt
I dont know about the LS rear brakes

Yes, there are only two trim levels. The easiest way to tell them apart from the exterior is the LS' have chrome trim pieces along the bottom of the car and on the hood. Other differences are that Z34's have dual exhaust and a different front bumper (the bottom "lip" sticks out farther), along with having dark trim and no strip on the hood. Also, 98 & 99 Z34's rims look more like a machined aluminum 5 spoke rather then the rounded 5 spokes on the 95-97 Z34's and some LS'.

well i hope the one i will be looking at has drum brakes in the back.
along with 15" rims.
i am not a big fan of chrome trim so i will have to remove it or black it out.

do you know if a set of headers made for a 2000+ monte will fit a 95-99?
or is there to many differences??

thanks

No one makes headers for the 3100 so in your case no. If you buy headers for a 2000+ SS, they will fit a 98-99 Z34 with the 3800 but I believe you will need to hammer some clearance into the firewall to make them fit.
