Default 50K, now what?

So I finally turned over 50k miles the other day after starting the semester with 48k.

What all needs to be done/checked in these '06/'07 Monte's once they make it to the mid-century mark? I've still got another 3-4k miles 'till I change out the oil again, and new tires will need to be bought here in a few weeks, but what else do I need to take care of?

I pulled out my Haynes manual and checked for you...

At 30,000 miles

Inspect and replace (if necessary) the PCV Valve.
Inspect and replace (if necessary) the spark plug wires.
Replace the spark plugs
Replace the fuel filter
Inspect the fuel system
Service the cooling system (drain, flush and refill)

Every 60,000 miles

Change the automatic transaxle fluid and filter
Inspect the timing belt (every15,000 miles, replace on 3.4 DOHC at 60,000)

Wow, that's quite an accomplishment.

My car turned 13,645 on the way back from MI two weeks ago. I need to put it up for awhile and stop driving it so much.

LOL, I always make fun of my brother because he doesn't do anything to his cars.

He has over 170k miles on his 97 Pathfinder and has probably only changed the oil 3 times.

The car runs fine. He took it from LA to Phoenix about 4 times last month.

I would just change the tranny fluid/filter, fuel filter, air filter, I don't know if I'd do the spark plugs quite yet...but your basic fluids and filters. ) Good advice Duane, PCV should be replaced if it hasn't yet been...

Okay, I'll start checkin around to see how much people wanna charge me to change the tranny fluid/filter, just get it changed or flushed? I replaced the stock air filter with a K&N about 5k ago. I'll look into the fuel filter, is it something I might be able to do on my own when I get home in a few weeks?

I'll probably pull the spark plugs just to look at them, make sure they're gapped right and still somewhat clean.

How about this PCV? Where is it and what do I need to look for?

alright.. i don't have the haynes book handy like i did yesterday. not that it matter,s it wouldn't say where it is on a 3.9.

however, go to autozone or something... they can tell you where it is. i don't think they are much trouble to take off. if i'm thinkin about the right part, you should be able to shake it near you ear and hear something inside bouncing back and forth.
