Unhappy 06 Monte SS Computer Problems @ 50K miles : (

I have an 06 MCSS and just found out today that my main computer is failing, which has also caused my hubs to go bad because it is telling to car to brake and the traction control to activate at intermittent times. Has anyone else had problems with their 06 Monte with the computer system? I want to know if this is a problem for this year and model or if something just went horribly wrong with my particular car!

p.s. i hate the TPMS too, it's been in 4 times for it failing, what a waste of time.

I haven't heard of any computer issues, but I agree that the tpms is a joke.

Hi Teresa, Sorry 2 read about your problem. I haven't
read about your type of problem on a 06SS.
Is your Monte Carlo Stock ? Any Mod's ?
What did the tech that checked your Monte say was
wrong with your Computer ? Where did you have
your Monte Carlo checked out. Was it a certified mechanic ?
What was the cost to check & what did they say you
needed to do to repair problem ?
Check back & hopefully one of our Expert tech member's
will post their suggestions.
We wish you Good Luck & please keep us updated.

nope, no issues like that... and I have a little over 76,000 miles on my 06....

for the TPMS, sounds like you need to go in for the remote radio receiver fix... since that's what the tire sensors use to send their signals...

there's a TSB about it...

get that receiver replaced, and the new antenna put in (all part of the TSB fix/solution), and you'll be good to go once they reprogram 'em after that...

Yes it is stock - the only thing that I changed on the car was the exhaust tips. I have subs and an amp too, but they currently are not connected.
I went back to my dealership's service department.
Supposedly they replaced the mother board and thought that fixed it. Well come to find out it did not. So now they have replaced the wiring harness, and I'm waiting to hear back on if that fixed it or if they are still having problems. Thankfully Chevy is going to eat the cost of these repairs, since this should not be happening (and my company has a VERY good business relationship with them). I also don't think that they liked the term "lawyer" being brought up, or threatening to bring our business elsewhere! The general manager in service is driving my car for the next day or two to see if anything goes wrong, so if it appears fine, I will get my car back this week!! Which excites me that it is probably fixable, because I wouldn't know what to do without my baby!

No computer problems on my '06 Monte (thank God!). Yours is the first I've heard with that particular problem.

I don't have an SS, but my 06 3.5L has not had any computer problems and i'm at 79,500 miles...Sorry to hear about yours. So far, the only problems i've had with mine were a water pump and power steering pump, both covered under warrenty.
