2014 Monte Carlo
#21
They are going to doing something like this. It had been announced already. They haven't said for sure that its a MonteCarlo, but they need something else for the NASCAR platform. Which GM takes seriously. The Monte Carlo is the obvious name at it is the winningest car in NASCAR history. Non-NASCAR fans don't seem to accept this, but it is the reason Monte Carlo's existed all those years since its creation. Research it if you don't believe. The 1st Monte Carlo was built to the minimum wheelbase accepted by NASCAR back in 1970 and never had a year it was not used in NASCAR when it was produced. They brought it back for NASCAR before. They will bring it back for NASCAR again. It's only a matter of when.
The Monte Carlo is all about NASCAR and I think we are looking at the next gen here. But it will probably be FWD

I dont mean to be "that guy" but for me for practical use I wouldnt mind it being FWD not that I could afford it new at all lol but for Iowa winters FWD is much better. Plus if I was going to get a RWD car it'd have to be the Challenger or Camaro

I'd have to disagree with that - I prefer RWD in winter. However, you know Chevy will make it to be a sporty-themed personal luxury vehicle (like the Monte). Not everyone wants a Camaro and the impala is plain so to address those in the middle they'll release this. You can pretty much kiss any RWD vehicle from Chevy goodbye, except for the Vette, Camaro and the trucks.

Yes, but that announcement indicated a NEW nameplate; Monte Carlo would be an OLD nameplate.
This is half correct. Yes, while the Monte Carlo nameplate was in production, it was used as the NASCAR entry. However, the 3rd generation (1978-1980) was NOT used in NASCAR. For those 3 years, GM continued using the 2nd generation (1977 model year) MC in NASCAR. GM switched to the new style in 1981, when the 4th generation appeared.

I read it as a nameplate not currently in the lineup. monte is not being used. As for the looks the front end needs work and the tail lights look funky. Stop making it look like the cruze. Smooth it out a bit, Widen the back end, use a more retro style back end, bring the back glass in give it more trunk(maybe even something more like an aero coupe.
