He isn't talking abut a 240HP car dude, it's over 300HP and the trans we have in our cars(and yours) are only rated to handle 300HP, That's why 06/07's have such bad tranny reputations.

Like I said, look it over and take it for a good test drive.
If you do get it i promise you, You'll love it

It's not about hp it's about torque when shifting...

Just remember, yours has the 3800 SC and not the LS4. Little bit of a different pairing there. Trans life with the LS4 is a crapshoot honestly; some guys have had problems as early as 50k miles, others go over 100k+.

Regarding the car, cost depends largely on condition and who you're buying from. An 06 SS w/103k miles, from a dealership, should be around $10k, and that price is for a car in very good to excellent condition. If the condition is very good, I'd say $9k is a good price.

Surprised a dealership would sell a car with 100k on it. Must be a really clean car. When I worked on a used car lot would wouldn't even think of a car with 100k+, only because they are hard to finance. I think 8-10k would be the right price if the car is super clean. Non smoker, good tires and brakes.

The tranny, well most likley you will have an issue with at some point and time. Other than that they are fun to drive. Good luck hope it works out.

When I looked up car in perfect condition it was listed at 7500. Torque is what is hard on the trans. 280-290 for 3800 sc 320 for ls4. Soon as I got it put 3.4 pulley setup and tune which easily puts it at same or more then 320 torque and didn't have a problem. Had 100k on ot drove it another 70k and it was still fine. Like I said depends on how you drive it. Lots of burnouts and take offs shifting from 1st to 2nd hard is what hurts them. There have been people with 300+ to the wheels which is more then a ls4 considering that's not wheel hp and as long as you take it easy on the 1 to 2 shift they don't have problems it's all on how you drive it

I was just using that dealership price as a price point; not assuming it's at a dealership. Private party, you'd be looking at around $8,500 for the same car in very good to excellent condition. Leather seats and a moonroof will help with value. I believe all SS's came with a moonroof but not all came with leather seats.

Kelley Blue Book > What should I pay for a used car > I know which used car I want

All prices I've mentioned are assuming it's very good to excellent condition.
