i believe our cars came with a 125 amp alternator and the ss came with a 150. thats a lot compared to most other cars come with an 80 or 100.


point our cars can handle more electrical demand than most others.

Ok well I emailed the guys selling those LED third brake lights, and they emailed back this morning like 2 minutes before I payed for it and said no they do not fit o6 & 07!

But to be honest I think they may just be going by what it says on the box, cause they look like they are the exact same. So I called Chevy customer service, and they said I need to call the parts section of a local Chevy dealership and they would know for sure.

But they are not open on Sundays and already closed today, so now I am stuck until Monday waiting.

 

5th gen= 95-99
6th gen= 00-05
7th gen= 06-07

 

I honestly don't see why it wouldn't fit, it's the same damn trunk.

I have an 00 and I have the 06 spoiler that's gonna bolt right up. I bought the 3rd brake light vinyl cover, and my Dad also wanted one (he has a 2006) and it's the same.

 

Yeah that's what I am thinking. Oh well I will give it a shot.

 

Even my new tail lights were for 6th gen or 7th gen.

I couldn't imagine they changed nothing but the 3rd brake light.

 

3rd brake lights from '00-05 and '06/07 have to be the same.

They sure look like it. I ment to try the brake light from our '03 Pace car in the '06 Monte but never got around to it.

Anyways, the light itself sure looks the same. Even the way it mounts to the trunk lid.

 

Well, the light came in today.. and.. it somewhat fits. Haha.

Not a perfect fit, to make it work I can only screw in the two side screws, and can not put the middle bracket in to hold it because the bracket pushes in to far. It still stays in and does not move around at all, just rigged.

I tried taking it apart and putting it onto the other holder from the old light, but the wiring is too different.

I have not even got to see it lit up yet, since no one is here to press the brake for me, hahaha.

Anyways, here is a picture of it, may not be too great because I took it with my phone, should have one of it lit up in a little while..
