FAQ: 2003 monte carlo ss limited edition
#2
Unless someone modded it, it shouldn't be supercharged. The supercharged 3800 was only offered in 2004 and 2005. As far as mods, really depends what you're looking for. Looks or are you trying to gain some power?

Welcome to the forum. Here is a link to a general mod plan for the 3800 motor. It should answer any questions you may have on what to do first and what will give you the best benefit

I also agree the only factory sc Montes were some 04's and all 05's in the ss version.
I also agree as far as performance boost is the only noticeable gain you will feel.
Visuals look into tint, wheels, head lights and tail lights, hoods and the list goes on and on.

Welcome to the forum, nice to see your finding out how to maintain your new Monte Carlo SS instead of just running it into the ground. Hope the previous owner did his scheduled maintenance on her. If there are no maintenance records it would not hurt to pull your tranny dip stick out and smell and feel the fluid, look to see how red or dark it is. If it is iffy, take her in for a fluid / filter change, unless that is something you can do yourself. Many long term forum members say do not have it flushed, just a filter / fluid change. The tranny on our Monte's needs to be kept up on, it's a weaker point we have.
