Default 2002 SS whining noise
I have a 2002 Monti Carlo SS...it seems to have recently developed an issue.... When ever the temperature gauge gets warm ( about halfway) it suddenly starts making this whining noise.... Sounds like the transmission, but quiets down as soon as the temperature gauge lowers....The gauge usually sits at about one quarter.

The whining noise in my 01 starts when my wife gets in the car. Cold or hot doesn't matter.
