Does anybody here know how rare a blue and white bench seat interior (ala 1983 style) is on an 1984 Monte SS? Dad's is like this and we've been told that it is quite rare. If so, any way to back that up? Documentation, ect? Thanks.

 

You could run the VIN number at Comp Nine and check the RPO code to see how many came with that color combo interior. The results may not be absolute, but it would give you an idea of how many were built.

 

I looked through the RPO list over on MonteCarloSS.Com, and I didn't see a specific RPO for the Blue/White Interior. Anybody know anything more about this?

You can try montecarloss.com they have reference places for how many were made for each year of the 4th generation there good luck.....

in all honest it will be hard to find production numbers of just one option such as the seats, but one thing you can narow down as you can see only 2 colors of the car they would do blue/white seats

 

You mean the only two colors that Monte SSs were offered in in 1984?

What I'm getting at is that most of the 84 SSs that I've seen are all blue interiors. I've only seen a couple w/ blue & white interiors. We were told that GM ran out of blue bench seats, so at the end of the production year, they substituted 83 blue/white interiors on a few cars to finish the run. Has any one else ever heard this? Any way to confirm this?

On page 26 they only show Dark Blue or Dark Blue White as a option on Monte SS interior colors available in 84

 

go look at the link zjerry and i posted scroll to page 26 you will see there that blue and white interior was only an option with white and dark blue exterior color

 

Bench seat= blue and white
Bucket seats = all blue
