160t-stat is entirly to cold for your setup right now, and often there are alot of people that say that the t-stats dont even do anything.

i would say just get a 180 tstat and you will be fine, I put a 180 in my car and it does run cooler than it did before but thats the only difference i can tell because the gauge says that it is running cooler.

yep g with a 180...a 160 will prolly throw a code

first step in changin ur tstat is gettin a new tstat and the gasket
next make sure the engine is cold when u go to change it...
next find the tstat housing(follow radiator hose to the top and there will b a housing with 2 bolts)
remove the top of the housing and take the old tstat out and remove the old gasket...make sure nothing gets into the housing
put in the new gasket and tstat and then bleed out the air in the line

the way i bleed out the air on my car is buy just taking the radiator cap off and start the car and let it run for about 2-3mins and then all the air is usually out of mine. ( i did this when i put in my P&P LIM and never had a problem with it)
