thats cool, brock. not the prettyist thing out there but awsome that it runs 10* cooler with it in. what would be REALLY cool would be if, after you finish smoothing off the interior of the hole, you were able to make a seprate peice that could just slide into the hole, and have your highbeam in it. have a couple clips to hold it in in the back, a thin peice of weatherstripping around the front to keep water out.

it could act like an exaust dump, only for an intake. going to the track? just unplug the highbeam bulb, unclip the "plug" peice & pull it out, and instant CAI. but then it rains. slide the plug back into the intake hole, clip it in, and let the weatherstripping keep your electronics safe. that would be awsome if you could pull it off, plus no need to change the whole housing. you could probibly make the housing insert with sheet metal, and graft the lens peice that you cut out of the assembly onto the insert peice... if there is anything left of it, lol

Brock, we're not trying to crap on your parade. You wanted people's opinions or comments. People were offering you some ideas. It's obviously not done in your pictures. Did you want everyone to post "Looks great" even if they didn't mean it? Nobody was trying to be insulting.

Like I said in my previous post, it's a cool idea when you're at the track. But logistically, not something you would want to leave in all the time during your daily commutes. And you said that you intend to only use it at the track. That's fine dude. Go for it! It obviously works well, considering the reduced temps you mentioned.

Personally, I kinda like Ryan's idea of potentially making it a permanently usable assembly with working low and high beams.

Looks good in those pics Brock.

So how did you finish off the assembly? Last pics we saw, you had just cut the hole out. The assembly was still open, allowing your bulbs access to the elements.

lol i saw a dual setuop on an older monte this weekend. it was on horsepower. its on spike from like 10 -12 on the weekends. they did the same thing but on both headlights, and with in line filters.

spectre makes kits for those types of installs.

you shold put a led strip around the hole and have a plug setup with your blinkers. that would be bad a**
