Default 07 Monte Carlo transmission whine when idling and ps leak

It doesn't whine all the time only on a cold start and as soon as you start driving it goes away, it doesn't shift funky, or slip at all, just wondering if there's something I can keep my eyes on or if these cars just like to do it, and now the power steering leak is pretty bad and is leaking on the serpentine belt so I was just wondering if there is any common leaks on these cars.my first post on this forum so any comments/suggestions would be greatly appreciated

My guess is this is not a transmission whine and is actually a whine from the power steering pump due to low fluid. I would suggest fixing that leak and not driving the car if it is spraying fluid on the belt.
As for common leaks, I am not sure on the engine options in the 2007. But at this age, you will have hoses that are dry rotting and leaking if they have not been serviced.

This Is a relatively common issue on higher mileage chevys the seals in the pump go bad main problem is the new and rebuilt replacement pumps are built like crap and tend to last only a few months try Lucas power steering sealant available at at Walmart
