Yeah I agree with the others. You get what you pay for..you got theMonte with the smallest engineto save some money. Test drives are crucial when choosing a car. [sm=dontgetit.gif]
Although I don't think my comment was nasty, I still have to stand by it. You accomplished the lower payment and insurance, and being that you know what GMengines can do (04 Grand Prix GTP) I just don't see where there is room to complain about that 3.5 because you know it's not a GTP or whatever. I don't know just my 2 cents, at least your wallet is bit more free now though.

Well I myself have only one thing to say....WHY DID YOU BUY IT? IF it was so slow when you test drove it why buy? I know if I don't like the car in a test drive I don't buy it. I could care less if it lowers payments or insurance. I gotta drive it everyday. And to compare the 3.5 to the 3.8 Superchared motor is just stupid. Sorry but that to me is just common sense. And no I don't think you were out of line.

With the number of nasty remarks by the majority of people in this forum I will remove myslf.Life is not about a car.
I also apologize Doug. Welcome.

Please remember as a peice of advise from the Unofficial Grandpa of the Unofficial Monte Carlo Forum:

Netiquette dictates that one politely introduces themselves into a new forum. You are afterall visiting a forum of Monte Carlo afficionados.

After that, you are welcome to address any issues you have with your Monte.

Stay a while, you will grow to like us.

IF lifes not about a car, then why did he post here? I have to say that we as a group love cars. Whatever kind they may be, albeit this is a Monte Carlo forum so therefore we love them....right?

If I came off to "brass" then I apologize, HOWEVER don't just come on the forum and start bashing. PLEASE!!! I don't even bash quite that hard and I've got 1074 posts here.

LOL! I agree.

Even James Cain45 who is our resident "unofficial devil's advocate of the offical Monte Carlo Forum" has never posted like that.

I agree..... I doubt he will come back... but if he does, he is more than welcome to stay. He just made a bad first impression by immediatly starting to bash his own car when he joined.

Bye Bye Dougie. You cant expect to come here and insult the car that this entire forum is about and get nice answers in return. Though I would not have posted some of the things that others did, I dont feel bad at all that you got that reaction. I just hope it doesnt leave you with a bad taste in your mouth about monte carlo owners.

try reading my post again.I said that the 3.8 Pontiac engine gets the job done and is a GM engine. The 3.5 in this configuration is under powered and under torqued for the size and weight of the 07 Monte Carlo. This is my opinion and is whether you like it or not a fact. This does not take away from the fact that all Monte Carlos 2000-2007 are great looking cars.

So are you going to keep it and mod it, trade it in, or learn to love it?
