RE: 07 Monte
[quote]i don't know about resale.. when was the last time you heard of a Ford Maverick or an AMC antyhing going for triple digits at Barrett Jackson?
Maybe not a Maverick or AMC,but a LOT of other discontinued models are bringing big bucks.
Some Examples:
Chevelle SS
Buick Grand National
Plymouth 'Cuda
Olds 442
Chevrolet Nomad
Plymouth Road Runner/Superbird $$$$$$
Pontiac GTO
Ford Fairlane/Thunderbolt
Cadillac Eldorado (especially '59)
Dodge Coronet/RT/Super Bee

LOL. I think we've heard the last from Dougie-pooh. I guess what he's trying to say is that he traded a car he liked for a car he that doesn't like. Now why anyone with half-a-brain would do that is up for debate, I suppose.
Personally, I think Dougie-pooh is full of crapola.HeyDoug - let'ssee some pics of your new ride. Ricers...hard to understand, but you gotta love 'em for the entertainment value. [:-]

I loved my 06 LT for the time I had it. When I got it I could not afford an 06 SS. Mather of fact the LT was a dealer demo. with 7000 miles on it thats why I was able to afford it.
Fortunatley for me I got a few big promotions and a year later I was able to buy an SS plus I got it for less than what they were going in 06 and it is an 07 with a better warranty.
Big mecho you must not have liked it too much to sell it a year later and get a SS.

RE: 07 Monte
maybe so.... but what about the '73 Chevelle's and GTO's..... have you ever even heard of them?
1973 Chevrolet Chevelle SS
Comments: 1973 was the last year of the Chevelle SS. Product dilution reached its lowest point and the SS package was technically available on the Chevelle station wagon. The 1973 Chevelle was completely redesigned and the engines were further detuned.
Production: 2,500 (SS 454 option)
Engines: L65 350 V8 145bhp@4000, 255lb-ft@2400rpm. L48 350 V8 175bhp@4000rpm, 270lb-ft@2400rpm. 454 V8 245bhp@4000rpm, 375lb-ft@3200rpm.
Performance:
1973 Pontiac GTO
Comments: 1973 saw the end of the once great GTO. New government regulations eliminated the Endura bumper and added a heavy, odd-looking steel one. The hood and tail took on displeasing triangular shapes and this would be the last year the GTO would be based on the LeMans. The 400 V8 was rated at just 230 bhp while the 455 was rated at 250 bhp and was only available with an automatic transmission.
Production: 4,806
Engines: 400 V8 230 bhp @ 4400 rpm, 325 lb-ft @ 3200 rpm. 455 V8 250 bhp @ 3700 rpm, 370 lb-ft @ 2800 rpm.
Performance:
Only time will telll.... I think the Monte Carlo will be remembered for hte 1st and 4th generations... not the 5th, 6th, and 7th generations. Only time will tell who is right though.... My thought is that the later models are either lazely designed becasue the engineers know they are ont he way out or its the model that kiled the car.

Doug put some stickers on it toincrease horsepower and put one of those 15" 'racing' spoilers on it to control your new horsepower

RE: 07 Monte
for those of you who wrote decent comments, thanks. The rest of you need to grow up and get a life.Bye the way,I traded the Accord to lower my car payments and car insurance. This was exactly what I accomplished. The 3.5 211hp engine is a joke, period. Before I bought the Accord I had an 04 Grand Prix GTP 3.8 Supercharged. So I know GM engines can run.The 3.5 in the Monte and Impala does not get the job done.

doug i apologize that some of our members were, well, a little less than nice when commenting...most thought that u were just someone who comes, rips on our cars and then leaves...and i hate to say it but most wont like that u have once again called one of our cars a "joke"...so i apologize for how some members have been acting...this is supposed to be a "***** free zone" and i think a few have forgotten that...if u have legitamate questions or just want to talk about the car in general i would like to welcome u to stay...otherwise i hope the car does for u what u bought it to do and check back in a few days...if ppl r still makin the same comments (though i hope they will not) i would feel the same as u and prolly leave but u might be suprised
