No offence, but 1sec in 0-60 times is a HUGE difference. Even a one second difference in a 1/4 mile race is huge.

 

True but not enough to warrant the horrible gas mileage and $5k premium over an LTZ or LT3 model.

 

that is good you guys love your v-6's but when it comes down to it we love our v8's just as much and we are willing to make the sacrifice of bad gas mileage.

True and V-8's are great. I wasn't willing to sacrifice for the extra money and gas mileage. And TonyRumble I'm not worried about getting my car 1 second faster as I plan no mods....until out of warranty of course.

 

Buying the SS would have been great if I could have afforded the payments.

But our money tree died last year so we had to go out and get real jobs.

Now for the truth. I love older American cars and I like working on them. This too takes money. So I went for the cheaper monthly payments the LTZ offered.

 

I personally think the LTZ is the perfect balance between the SS and the lower base monte. The LT3's are great too.

 

That one second is huge!!! In the 1/4 that can translate to a few car lengths.

 

I was glad to trade in my 2000 monte ss that only had 46000 miles on it to get my new Black and silver 2006 Monte ss even if it does get a few MPG less. The rumble of the V8 and power differance you can feel in the seat of your pants makes it well worth the few extra dollars it costs to fill the tank. I love the V8

 

A black & silver SS it the exact one I test drove....it had GM accessories 18 inch chrome plated wheels on it. It was awesome.
