hi guys, i currently own a 2000 Monte SS. i was looking at an '04 Supercharged Monte and i was wondering what kind of extra mechanical upkeep that would need? i know the 3800 is a great engine, but how is it when it's factory supercharged?

 

As long as the car is maintained, and you are aware of Knock Retard (KR) and don't use anything less than premium gas, these cars can also easily see 200k miles.

Do you have any SPECIFIC questions regarding the L67?

i have an 04 supercharged monte and absolutely love it! mechanical wise i haven't really had any problems at all with it. gotta get use to the loud S/C winding whenever it's cold though. and the only other extra expense i have (other then 93 fuel) is S/C oil every 30,000 miles. no matter what the expense i think it's totally worth it but that's just me =D

 

supercharger oil should only be like $20, which isn't bad at all for something you don't do THAT often.

 

i know that stuff can be spendy at my work lol its a dealer tho so thats why... and i wouldnt mind the whine of a s/c whatsoever! i want to look for a second 3.8 so i can build it up and then just swap it out with mine... i want to do like a cam and ported and polished everything and a blower of course haha but that is a little out in the future right now...
