Unhappy 04 SS in the shop AGAIN....

She let me down on my way to work Friday.

Just had no throttle, and then sputtered and died. So sad seeing her on the hook. Got a call today that multiple things went wrong. Coil failed, CPS went out, and low fuel pressure from the pump. If the pump is no good that will be the second in 2 years!!

It was running awesome and had no signs of failure, i miss my car already and want to send her flowers or a get well soon card, LOL!

Are the fuel pumps prone to failure on these cars?

I don't have the 3800, but I've been on here a while. I don't think I've ever seen a thread with a fuel pump that went out. Good luck!

Fuel pumps do go out, but usually it takes a LONG time for that to happen. Just for a reference, I'm still on the original fuel pump in my 1998 Monte.

Sorry to hear about all of this happening all at once. I hope it gets better for you.

That is a little ridiculous unless you're running it hard with the gas tank almost empty on a regular basis.
Is it possible that the pump itself isn't bad, but something else in the fuel lines is clogged up either causing the low pressure or over stressing the pump?

Well they said there gonna replace the other stuff first then test again to see if the pump is bad or the other problems were causing the pump to be low..

I really miss my car, its been almost a week and i cant take it!!
