I was washing the car today, I noticed that the badging behind the doors and near the bottom (rocker panel [I forgot the name!]) that should read "Monte Carlo" is missing. I could swear that I used to have that on the car. I know I didn't remove it. If they were stolen from the car, the dudes did one fine job of it as there are no marks whatsoever on the spots. My question: did these badges even come on an 04 SS? I may be thinking of another model/year though. The car has never been in the body shop for anything. Ever. Strange goings on...

 

The only thing on the side of mine is the red ss.

 

have you checked any other 04 SS monte pics to see if they are on them!! do you just have a regular SS monte (not a nascar edition)? is it supercharged????

did you take pics when you got the car???

 

i checked your profile and it says you are the original owner?? and you can't remember if the badges were there or not?

 

if i remember correctly i think all the basic ss the one without high sport ground effect does not have "monte carlo" badges, but only ss badges.

 

Yeah, I know. I should probably pay more attention to stuff like that, but hey, I'm getting old! I never took pictures of the MC when new as I didn't own a camera until sometime two years ago. I am the cheapest bast@rd in town. It's not supercharged. I guess I was looking at another car when I saw those badges and just got all jumbled in the brain. You'll have this stuff happen when you hit 600 too!

umm mine it says supercharged ss on the side but i have seen 04's with the monte carlo on it. soo i dont know. that kinda sucks. do you have any pics of the car before or right after you bought it???

 

The '04 SS Montes only got "SS" on the sides where the other years got "Monte Carlo SS" on them?

 

i think only all the plain jane ss from 00-04. i could be wrong on the year, but for sure that i know of are the basic ss does not have "monte carlo" badges
