If I had waited until 2007
I would have the SS
Again the reason why I got the LTZ in 2006 because (to me) The LTZ was top of the line with only
a few options and 4 grand less then the SS.... I have all the opitions on my LTZ. She is fully loaded and after 14 months I still would have made the same choice. I do like the colors that they came out with in 2007 but the Laser Blue is still on top of my list
I have all the options in mine, and as much as the cops run around our town, the SS would not have been that big of a plus for me.

Space I have not voted yet only because they did not make an 07 LTZ

FIRST,
I would like to thank my fellow LTZ owners for copping out.

Okay I read through the sales brochure yesterday so I know what it says about this................SS got sport suspension, all others got touring suspension.
My LTZ versus an SS where handling/ride are concerned, my LTZ is just as agile as the SS I test drove. Okay I was only behind the wheel of the SS for minutes whereas I've been behind the wheel of my LTZ longer and more times. I Still feel my car handles just as good an SS. Another point. I drove a 2LT & 3LT. Neither felt as "in tune" to the road as my LTZ.
I'm certain the saleslady told me the upper end cars handle better. (but she told me afew other things that weren't exactly true)

Don't get me wrong,ALL Monte Carlo's are a unique ,rare and desirable car,but I think the SS is going to take the prize in the future.

The late 60s Road Runners were cousins to the Satillites, that's true. I just don't recall a Satillite Sebring?

Interesting to see the difference in % of those who picked th SS over the LTZ. For myself, if gas were free, and insurance was notan issue, the SS would be great. I also agree that the top end cars are historically the most valuable, but they have to have low miles on them. My LT is a daily driver year round, and unfortunately in Canada, that means snow and salt in winter.
Still, I like to dream that one day I might have an SS - I just dont know if I could afford all the tickets I would get!

(using the Monte Nationals as a guide)

The SS is "THE" car to own. Anything else is just a shadow of itself.

For those of us who do not own an SS, we are left to dreaming what might have been "If Only?"

I would love to own an SS. But the SS I want is a 4th gen '86-88 SS.

Okay I sure wouldn't turn down a '06-07 SS if I could afford it.

But my vote is still for my second slower in the 1/4 mile LTZ.

Lol here wse go again with the LT3 versus an LTZ.. lol Maybe it was the leather seats under your butt, that felt different, cause there is no suspension difference in the LT3 and the LTZ...
Now i did feel a difference between the LT2 and LT3. but again just my 2 cents worth.

My ideal Monte SS is the extremely rare, 1972, 454ci.

Good point.

So now we have to consider the 3LT being top of the line like the LTZ, right?

Outside of the black rocker panels, It seem like a fully loaded 3LT is the same.

But I thought 3lt or LT3 was a package designaton and not a model designation.

When I went on the on-line order form, LT3 was an optional engine, wheel, suspension, and spoiler option and not a model designation.

Do any of your insurance policies say "Monte Carlo LT3?" when they run the VIN

When you run the VIN or CARFAX on my vin it specifically says LTZ.
