Here's my defense against speed traps (unless the 12's are pounding):

And LadyT's built in, with laser jammer:
That looks familiar - An Escort 8500 X50. I just got the 9500i. I traded in my 8500 which was malfunctioning and got $80 credited back to my credit card.

Curious as to how it works (the escort 8500)

Like how does it notify you / look at night.

Okay, being that I'm a cop and I'm generally catching the speeders (instead of being caught) I still have a story about getting caught.

While I was on training, I got pulled over for 45 in a 35 (off duty of course, in my fiancees Impala). When the officer recognized me (one of the senior training officers) he called over everyone else on shift to see who he caught. The sergeant in charge of training came by and just said "Having a rough day, huh?" This was a pleasant surprise as I thought he would be pretty upset. But then my current training officer came by. He had me get out of the car and come talk to him while my fiancee was patiently waiting. A few minutes later I come back to the car and tell her I didn't get a ticket, but got an assignment. I had to write a 2 page essay (typed, single space) on setting a good example. We missed the movie we were on our way too.

Anyway, I would have almost rather gotten a ticket, because when I turned it in I got chewed out again because there was still a little bit of room left to write on the second page. This isn't even close to the best example of why being a cop in training sucks hard. I'm glad I'm done with that time in my life!
