91 .... eventhough it's not needed I do notice a difference though? The price isn't that much different than what I used to spend ...

I just put in some E10 89 octane.... was cheap... 25 cents less a gallon then premium.. but it took my mileage way down. I went from 24.5 average to 22.1 average!

How do you get better miles? I only get 300 miles on a full tank

Thanks space. I hadn't noticed my post count until you reminded me.
I know of many messageboards that insist that members search and revive an old thread of the same topic, rather than start a new thread. Cut down on server space.

I've tried 87 and 89 in my 06 SS, but I'm going to stick with Amoco (BP) Ultimate (the clear stuff). I believe this is still the factory-fill for new Corvettes, so that's good enough for me. I can definately tell a difference in performance, compared to 87/89.

While attempting to verify that it's still used in new Vettes rolling off the line in Kentucky, I came upon asurprising statement on BP's website. There, BP makes that statement that Amoco Ultimate is always a minimum of 93-octane (RON). However, it's labeled as 92 at the station I use most often, and I've seen it labeled as 91 at a few other BP's in the Kansas City area. What's up with that? I, for one, am perplexed.

I forgot to add that with semi-conservative driving habits, 75% highway/25% city, I'm averaging about 22 mpg at the moment. Last time I filled-up, which was a couple of days ago, BP Ultimate was $2.90, and BP regular was $2.70. Per Monte tank, that's$3.40 more for the good stuff, soit's really a non-issue as far as I'm concerned.

Damn!! I would love to be able to get 94 Sunoco. We have 93 from BP but it acts differently than 94 Sunoco from our cabin..... 140 miles away.
