There's a laser blue LTZ at a local dealer for sale.

I did a search on the site BeepBeep.com for Montes in my area for sale and found it.

Josh, that's a low number & I think rare Monte's or limited production
Monte Carlo's will soar in price in the future.
I think it pays to really take care of your Monte's.
Thanks 4 your posts.

As bad as this is for GM and the Monte Carlo, it is a large part of the reason I bought one...you just don't see that many of them, as opposed to the Impala which will be flooding the roads like the ford taurus did.

I would say there is a seventh gen, new frt end, new drivetrain line up...
If the 06-07 Monte's had a drastic change to the body I'd say they'd be classified as 7th Gen. There wasn't a drastic change to it like the other generations. It is still argued that the 3rd Generation is 1978-1988, but the 3rd gens and 4th gens are different. While still a G-body, the curves are much deeper on the 3rd gens than the 4th gens. The tail lights are completely different as well as the grills.

The 2000-2005 and 2006-2007 Monte's are very similar with only minor changes, nothing drastic. The curves are the same. The tail lights, while slightly changed, are still very similar to each other. The headlights and grills are slight changes, but again not drastic. It could be argued that 1973-1975 Monte Carlo's could be classified as a completely different generation than the 1976-1977 models because of the changes to the headlights, grills, tail lights and bumpers eventhough the bodies are the same. They are still all second generation. My opinion is, unless there is a drastic change to the body-style or it is switched over to a different platform, the 06-07's are classified as a sixth generation Monte Carlo.

5.3L LS4 V8
[edit] 2006-2007The 2006 Monte Carlo (and the companion Impala sedan) was introduced at the 2005 Los Angeles Auto Show. The base engine is a 3.5L V6 producing 210hp (156kW). The most notable news about the model, though, is the SS model's use of the Generation IV small-block V8 in a front-wheel drive car for the first time, and its first V8 since the 1988 model. The new 5.3L V8 will produce 303hp (226kW). The car is 55.8in high, 72.9in wide, and 196.7in long (142 cm by 185 cm by 500 cm). There is some debate as to whether the changes between 2005 and 2006 warrant a new generation designation. All of the exterior body panels with the exception of the sheet metal forward of the A-pilliar remain the same as previous years. The interior for 2006, however, is redesigned, and features a "substantially revamped c o c k-pit-style instrument panel with a new instrument layout and control center stack." Additionally, the seats and console are revised. However with the [b]completely new engine options for 2006 comes change in some key chassis components such as control arms that cause the track and ride height to be slightly larger.[/colo
