I had the same problem in my 2004 monte and found a burnt wire right above where your left butt cheek would be if you were sitting down on the seat. Not on the sitting part of the seat but on the leaning part if that makes sense.

If anyone has photos of when they tackled this particular repair, please post them. I have this same issue with my '07 SS, and would like to fix it myself, but don't want to end up damaging the leather because I don't know how to unhook it correctly. I assume what is needed is the simple wire repair everyone has posted about... I've searched for a how-to video, but to no avail... Thanks again for all the helpful info on this site!

Oh man, I used the photos on the 1st post. Man, I cant stand it when people close their photo account or move the photos. Thanks for the notice of "Sorry, the photo you requested is unavailable." You're not sorry. :P

Anyways, the unhooking is pretty straight forward. Anywhere I could not physically see (around the side air bag) I just pulled hard and then I could see the clip is a flexible plastic. Get contourted to see the underside of your seat. Believe me, this is the easy part. Getting it to line back up afterwards takes a lot of umph! Best of luck.
